Delexical Verbs

Delexical Verbs: have – take – do – make – give – go

We often use common verbs like have, take, do, make, give, go with nouns like a shower, a drink, holiday… We call these Delexical verbs.

Delexical verbs are action verbs that have no meaning in their own right. We find the meaning of the action more on the noun.

Form: delexical verb + adjective + noun
